More than 100 experts and scholars from China, the United States, Canada, Italy, Spain, Australia, Singapore and Thailand gathered in the Yunnan Cancer Hospital to exchange views on the latest progress of cancer prevention research. In recent years, Yunnan has established the Yunnan Cancer Center and the Yunnan provincial cancer treatment quality control center, carried out surgical treatment, chemotherapeutic treatment, and integrated Chinese and Western medicine treatment for patients, said Yang Yang, head of provincial health department. The province has played an important role in cancer prevention and treatment in Southwest China and southeast Asia, Yang said.
